Antillo means “sunny place” and is perfect suited to describe the vineyards in which the vines grow, and the label show depictions of vine leaves and grape clusters as found on some ancient Etruscan amphorae. The territory is characterised precisely by an intense light, the sea breeze, and a climate tempered by the proximity of the sea. Local historical varieties come together in this wine, the youngest of the Guado Al Melo range: using the oldest Sangiovese plus some other local varieties that have shaped the recent history of Bolgheri DOC, without the use of additives and refined on the lees for at least 12 months in oak barrels. The care and attention of the pickers and oenologist throughout the whole production process gives birth to a harmonious, fruity and lively wine that can last up to 8 years if cellared correctly. Bright purple colour, an expansive and intense aroma with a preponderance of wild berries, especially blackberry and raspberry plus a light and pleasant spicy hint. It has a good structure and persistence, crispy and lively, revealing rich and balanced tannins.
